My first trip here in many years. A lot of time, effort and love has been put in to upgrading the gardens. Lovely day out.

The gardens has many name-plates, attached to the plants, which explain geographic spread of the plants in the African continent, the uses of the trees for various purposes and also the early traditional uses by indigenous inhabitants and early settlers. A fascinating area named the medicine wheel, is a preservation space for trees and plants used for ages as herbs to cure a myriad of ailments and used for other purposes as well. Next to the nursery area sprawls a dense forest, which is still work - in development. It is cross- crossed by walking trails that reveal a variety of vegetation, especially trees, shrubs and flowers. The ground is moist and the humid air is punctuated by pleasant scents from the vegetation. A great effort is made to keep the place alive and pleasant.

Far away from the urban jungle, this gem of a place is conveniently located above the MRT and is great for picnics and Instagram shots. Come in the evening and experience the beauty of nature.

The Singapore Botanical Garden, a Masterpiece well structured, perfectly maintained, educational and enjoyable! Doesn’t matter how often you go!! Established in 1859 and growing since than it is with 82 hectares, located in the heart of the city, one of our ‘green lungs’. It became an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. It’s full of beautiful laid walkways, rest areas, Theme Gardens, exhibitions, educational areas, lakes a music Pavilion and most famous the National Orchid Garden.

Beautiful. There should be doggy poo bags provided in the R 20pp entrance fee. It is a wonderful place to enjoy with our four legged friends and one of few were they can run freely at the top section of the park.
