You will wait for your food here Even thought the place has a really nice vibe. Reasonable pricing.and good food. Their bucu beer is really great, red ale not so much. Service is extremely slow, you will lose over 4 hours waiting for a simple Pizza here. DO NOT come if you are time conceous.

We were disappointed to come to a closed door today due to renovations. Perhaps it would be a good idea to post a 'closed' sign at the road, so people dont have to tackle the long dirt road before having to turn around.

Ale House is a hidden gem. We found it by chance and have been coming back since. A visit to Harties is not complete until we have had beer and pizza at Ale House. Like the name suggests, Ale House is a brewery. They have the most wonderful beers (and I hate beer) which you will not find anywhere else. The last time we were there they had Buchu and Chili Beer on tap. We could net get enough and ended up taking 2L bottles of beer home. They also offer the best pizza with an abundance of toppings. The pizza man works his magic. The pizzas are also super cheap (R75 for any pizza, no matter the toppings). You will not get what Ale House offers elsewhere. We often wish Ale House was closer to home so that we could go more often. Ale House is definitely one in a million. This place should be on your bucket list.
