Dassiesfontein is the perfect spot to fill up your belly and stretch your legs on the long road. Their food is absolutely delicious. The traditional style of cooking makes you feel right at home - and they also cater to vegans and vegetarians. You can easily get lost in the store with their collection of interesting and vintage items for sale, or even some home baked pies and bread for the journey.

A must visit! Delicious eats. Fire burning on a cool day. Here you can shop for anything and the best is the friendliness of the staff

The food is absolutely amazing! Staff and service excellent. But most of all, the variety of farm produce, handmade items, leather goods, and decor items, makes Dassiesfontein definitely worth a visit (more than once!)

I have been dropping in for meals on and off for at least 20 years. Meals are consistently good and a comforting feeling. So much to look at and buy but also so much there it can have an overwhelming feeling and you have to find your way through to the café/restaurant.

First of all this shop is amazing . Expensive but amazing . We have been here twice. The shop has little of everything. We also had a breakfast . Which is why the rating is a 3 and not a 4 . When you order white farm bread and get brown farm bread and are told sorry no white farm bread and then tables around you get white farm bread this is not cool .

Since we discovered this stop we make a point of stopping as often as possible. There is such an eclectic mix of unusual things to buy as you can see from the photos. We also stock up with the great value Dassiesfontein fortified wine. They have a large variety of enameled crockery as you can see from the photo
