I sent my drysuit down to Grant at Blue Flash in Cape Town as it was quite an old suit and needed new seals put in. I decided to get rid of the neoprene seals and go with the ever popular SI Tech Silicone seal system. From the first interaction with Grant it was a complete breeze and I felt confident that everything would work out nicely. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I was a bit worried due to the age of my suit and if the seals would work/fit in/feel nice etc. I must say, when I got my suit back I was COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY by how awesome it turned out. The craftsmanship by Grant was incredible. It was done so neatly and professionally it looked like it had come from the factory or even better. Grant also added on a neoprene collar to keep the neck warm which looked great. After having my first dive with the new seals now, I must say how incredibly comfortable it is and how nice it turned out. Way better than expected. I cant recommend Grant and Blue Flash enough as I will surely be sending any drysuit work down to him. With me loving to ask a million questions :) , Grant was not phased and has always been willing to reply back and lend advice. I would definitely get in contact with them for anything drysuit related. I even have my eye on the new Cape Gear drysuits they have which look fantastic.

I have a biased view because I have been diving with Grant for years. This is because I believe he is the most competent, yet simultaneously also the most fun. The many wreck and reef finding missions have been a blast. Additionally, I finally have a Cape Gear drysuit that is actually 'dry', which has the perfect design specs for me, and fits like a glove. I'm a happy customer and pleased to say so!
Best drysuit repair in town
Great drysuits for sale. Repairs done as well.
Grant, owner of Blueflash, is a stand up guy. I've never met anyone more by the book than him. He looks after his equipment religiously, has tremendous seafaring knowledge and maritime competency that quickly earned my utmost respect. He shoots from the hip but he's also approachable and accommodating. I know I'm going on but I worked with him briefly and he's just one helluva nice guy. It's rare to find a business owner in today's world that's this reliable and honest. Grants' drysuit services are top notch. He's been in the game for years. Also worth noting, a lot of the time he's got some seriously great deals on second hand drysuits, not to mention the man has an encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to suits as well as wreck diving. Good advice is priceless when choosing the right suit for you. They're very personal things, drysuits, buying one that's not right for you is as bad as buying an ill fitting pair of boots before a major hike, not very wise. You won't find a more honest, hard working and reliable person in the field, take it from me, I've been around the block, I'm a commercial diver with 11 years experience, with well over 1500 hours logged underwater. I think I might just know what I'm talking about here. So, if you're looking for a competent skipper to take you on a well planned and fairly priced diving expedition to some stunning locations or just interested in purchasing, repairing or modifying a drysuit, he will accommodate and advise you like no one else. Fact. Impeccable customer service guaranteed.
