I have had a consultation appointment with the doctor about a cycte in my finger. I was told that it had to be cut out, a surgery appointment was setup the same day. I contacted a physio regarding the alternives and was advised to wait becuase the cycte would most likely disappear by itself. The possibility of it going away by itself has not even been mentioned by the doctor! It's only been a couple of weeks since the suggested surgery date, the cycte is gone completely. I would have had an unnecessary procedure with all the risks and would have had to go in for check ups and to get stitches removed if I would not have gotten a 2nd opinion. Luckily I only wasted half a day of work and the money I can not claim back from my medical aid for the consultation /x-rays on this matter.
