Furniture By Lily kept me waiting more than a week longer than their initial delivery date - and during that week, they ensured me every day that my desk was coming on that day. When the desk finally arrived, after much time wasted and stress on my part, the product was, to say the very least, hugely disappointing. Two of the legs were loose and one fell off. The sealing wasn't done, leaving gaping holes between the planks of wood. Not a single screw had been bored in straight. And it was filthy and full of marks. J.P. persistently claims that the courier is to blame for both the delay and the state of the table. In terms of the delay, I have spoken to the courier company, who told me he only paid them on 14th August. However, he informed me that my desk was to be delivered on the 12th of August. And the tracking service clearly shows that the furniture was only collected from his factory in Cape Town on the 13th of August. So blatant lies. When it comes to the sorry state of the product, he also blames this on the courier. However, a courier company cannot be blamed for screws that are skewed, sealing and glue that is missing, planks of wood that aren't flush, glue stains and filth. So lies once again. I have never encountered a business that cares less about its products or about customer service in my entire life. I see that others have had equally bad experiences with this two-bit scam of a firm. There should be a joint complaint against Furniture by Lily to the National Consumer Commission.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This company is at best a complete amateur business bordering on a total scam. I ordered 2 items from them. Apart from the items being delivered so late, they were made so badly it looked like a primary school woodwork project. One of the items I ordered was a dining room table. It has not only been made so badly but the design of the table is completely flawed in that a chair doesn't even fit under it. There was no finishing on the table top either. Old planks of wood poorly glued to together with gaps everywhere and not even sanded. The one side wasn't even cut straight - it still had the original marks from the timber yard. When I insisted on a refund from the owner, JP, he told me he would collect his shoddy products and refund me the next day. A few weeks later and I'm still waiting for this to happen and subsequently JP doesn't take me calls or reply to my messages.
