One of the best museums and engagement centers I've been to in the world. The guides, sights and engaging content is deeply local and beautifully created in collaboration with the original inhabitants of District Six. A must see for any history, culture and curating nerds. Also, if you have kids, they are very well equipped for kids above 10 years old. So take them when they can understand and read the content.

Lovely venue in a restored industrial building. Exhibition focusses on stories of former residents of District Six. There is also a section on traditional recipes.

A real insight to a part of Cape Town's history that the system doesn't want us to remember.

This centre is home to many events and never disappoints. The centre is linked to the District six Museum where another experience awaits locals and our international visitors. The most impressive and distinguished achievement is that there are only women in all area of management and both the homecoming centre and D6 museum is led by Bonita Bennett. Her never ending pursuit of preserving the memory of District Six has been nothing short of phenomenal. If you ever have the opportunity to go or are in Cape Town with the kids or folks, please pop in to the Homecoming centre or District Six Museum. I can guarantee that these venues will not disappoint

We were met with a kind hearted group. We then got to learn about how the district 6 community was and the different interactions that were happening during that time. We were further educated by a series of activities that were really insightful. The experience was absolutely amazing and an unforgettable experience.
