The statue of Jan van Riebeeck lies alongside the statue of Maria van Riebeck on Adderley Street in Cape Town, South Africa. Both statues stand with their backs to the sea looking south to Table Mountain. The statue was donated by Cecil Rhodes to the city of Cape Town.

Beautiful piece of history.
Museums are always meaningful places and very neat .Just becareful of vagrants and suspicious people waking around.
Considering that there is usually a lot of traffic around you, this inaccurate statue of Jan van Riebeeck (there is no historical evidence that he ever looked like this) is only best enjoyed while taking an open top bus trip (red or blue bus) that is available to take from the nearby V&A Waterfront. Walking in this part of the city is a bit hectic sometimes
Beautiful statue. Between 2 busy roads though so not a museum.
The past must be remembered not erased, besides it’s an artwork in period costume, who wouldn’t like it.....and the alternative would be yet ANOTHER Nelson statue....
The statue should be located in front of the castle of Goode Hope
It's a statue. Perhaps little maintenance is in order.
