Easy hiking trail, there two was to get to the top via ladders, chains and steps or the longer route around the mountain. Loved the experience of going up via the ladders, steps and chain. The view on top is worth it. Cape Town is a beautiful place. If your scared of heights I do not recommend you do the ladders, chains and steps.

Nice trail to walk. Gets crowded at times. Recommended to travel with a group of friends and wear comfortable shoes. Spectacular views!

It was intense but manageable. Very important tips are to make sure you wear light comfortable, loose clothes, proper sneakers and enough cold water. Water is very important. I see people with Jeans and thick shirts, which will make for some hot heavy walking. Be properly prepared for the walk and you will enjoy it and be safe.

If you're not active enough or if you've never hiked or if you are afraid of heights, this may not be the best hike experience for you! I would still recommend it! Go with a positive attitude and I'm sure you'll have a great time and feel accomplished at the end!

Absolutely superb hike. When you arrive here, follow the trail to the left that goes around the side of lions head facing towards camps bay, the view from here is simply breathtaking! Hike up just before sunset and actually make it to the top of the mountain. I know it can be quite intimidating and maybe even a little scary but it's worth it. There is some segments of the hike that require you to climb ladders and hold onto chains, but just be careful and you'll be fine. You'll find a lot of people hiking lions head so you can make some friends to guide you to the top but the trail is easy to follow. Get to the top, enjoy the sunset and then wait a little bit longer to see the moon rise. The horizon is painted with flickering orange lights from the city down below. It looks like sparkling diamonds. It's incredible. If you visit cape town you have to do this hike!

This trail was the most intense hiking trail I've ever been on, but it was worth it. The view all the way from the bottom to the top is just breathtaking. It gets very challenging and scary as you approach the top, in some places you'l have to use chains and ladder to climb. The starting point is pretty clear, on your left when you arrive at Lion's Head, and you come back the same way. When we started, we didn't know the trail comes back the same way we used going up, so the thought of having to go through what we have already went though scared us even more. Tips: have something to cover your head, hat or scarf, and wear sunscreen

Views are always great. If you are looking for a steep walk..definitely go towards Signal hill. It's up hill almost all the way. The hike is moderate and free access. Best to go with someone for safety and some help with the ladders. When hiking in the late hours, best to bring a torch.

Undoubtedly heavenly One of the best places to stay in awe and experience sun rise while burning calories. Runners and hikers are friendly especially early morning. Slightly grumpy late afternoon. The views are amazing too. It’s dog friendly and inclusive
