I was initially disappointment when my state-of-the-art Zeiss digital lenses (with Duravision BlueProtect coating, which the website states is known for its "superior hardness" and "scratch-resistant properties") started giving me problems with small "dull areas" affecting my ability to focus, which I was convinced is coating defect which should be covered by the Zeiss 12-month warranty. The lenses had to be sent to the Zeiss lab for analysis and the finding was that there were "hairline scratches on both lenses... and a deep scratch on one lens" and they stated these type of scratches are the result of contact with very hard or abrasive surfaces (which most certainly is not the case)- The bottom line was Zeiss felt the defect was due to improper care of the lenses and I had to pay for a new set of lenses with new coating with a turn-around time of 14 days. Disappointing from such a well-marketed, reputable company such as Zeiss. However, my disappointment has been replaced by tremendous gratitude after the Mellins staff went out of their way to resolve the dispute and assisted me in a friendly and professional manner. At this stage, I am feeling very thankful and satisfied!

Always a problem when trying to get glasses or contacts. Wrong prescriptions ordered back to back, took almost 2 months to rectify.

Bought a very expensive pair of Linberg reading glasses. Paid on the day of consultation and then received numerous calls, sms's and emails to please settle my outstanding account. I returned to have my frames straightened and was dealt with by the accounts lady, huge attitude who tried to bend my glasses straight with her hands. Not professional at all. I walked out and had fantastic service at Specsavers. Not the experience you would expect from Mellins.

My glasses are late (despite phoning twice to confirm the date) and the incorrect amount was claimed from my medical aid. I give them 3 stars because they were helpful in resolving the problems.
