This is our umpteenth time doing the seal island cruise but our 1st time with Nauticat Charters. The staff were very professional and the transaction handled very professionally. The day started off overcast but cleared up quite nicely so we opted for the lovely benches on the terrace (side of boat). Were we wrong! 10min into the trip the boat hit some swells and people started moving into the inner cabin (we decided to stay). Felt like a trip straight out of final destination with my 5yr and even 10yr old holding on for dear life! We are not fussy nor a fearful bunch but have you ever heard a family praying in unison like a bunch of shaolin monks! After a brief pause at seal island we went inside and the resemblance was that of a Golden Arrow bus en route to Camps Bay, or a Metrorail train on the False Bay route! Pros: Lovely staff from reception to end. Cons: Dated boat (needs replacement not thirty coats of paint). P.S: Until the fleet is updated, I'll pay a few pennies more and stick to Drumbeat Charters. For prospective clients, comparing Nauticat to Drumbeat Charters is like comparing Flysafair / Mango to British Airways. Entirely your choice! My 2 cents worth - don't be penny wise and pound foolish.

Just loved the seals. The wind was calm and we could enjoy a lovely boat trip. Just be warned that the smell near the island might not be very nice. But seeing the seals play in the water is worth it!
Great 45 min boat trip to Seal Island. Trip was good and the boat is in great condition both inside and out.
There was three weather seasons in 45minutes The Seals were beautiful and the wind was blowing, luckly from the right way not to have any waves. It was nice to sit inside out of the wind and then go out to see the scenery. Houtbay is so beautiful.
The trip was very quick - 15 min boat ride to seal island, 5 mins there then 15 mins back. The trip did exactly as advertised but felt like it was underwhelming. We saw all we hoped although learnt while on our trips there’s a bigger seal island in false bay. Enjoyed it but wouldn’t repeat. Also know that the smell is overwhelming!
Very enjoyable trip to see the seals, with the skipper making great efforts to get close. Be warned though - not for those prone to seasickness!
A fun trip out to Seal island. Friendly staff added to the awesome experience! The boat ride was excellent, featuring a see through hull to view the seals as they swim along with the boat. Truly an amazing trip!
Nauticat boating company offers a good boat trip service to seal island, it’s not crowded and the overall experience is very pleasant.
