9th Pretoria (Irene) Air Scouts is one of the few Air scouts troops in the province. There is a Cubs troop that runs on the premises in the day from 3:00PM till 5/6 with Scouts starting at 7PM. The grounds are well equipped to sever the group and there is a good leadership structure in place. As with all troops, the numbers vary in a cyclical fashion however this troop has been around for a long time and remains one of the strongest in the province. The leaders are more focused on fun and games for the teenagers while teaching the group valuable life lessons rather than a focus on achieving badges. If a scout wishes to move though badges it is usually self motivated however he is widely supported in this by the leaders of the troop. Scouts is for anyone and while historically this troop has not allowed girls it has changed in recent years. This is a great place to send a child to instill valuable life values and morals that are difficult to teach other than through daily examples in unique environments. I have not known a scout that has looked back negatively on their time here.

Fun for kids, great group of people, definately worth a try on a Friday afternoon for your boys ages 7 to 10 for Cubs and 10 and older for scouts. Great way to get them out and active.
