Hidden gem... second oldest “building” in South Africa. If you love history then this is also a must... Ask then to tell you about Dr. Barry

If you want to experience and gain a view of the Cape's history, a visit to the museum would be in order. The "battery" is an amazing reminder of lost history.

There was a lot of history about what Cape Town used to look like before further any infrastructure took place.

Awesome experience, one of the best museums in Cape Town well worth spending some time there, conveniently located in the waterfront.

An important and often overlooked site that played a vital role in the foundation of South Africa's history, and a wealth of information from their enthusiastic executive by the name of Dale, speak to her and she will captivate and inspire you. Would go back just to have her explain and share the vast knowledge and passion for the battery itself and the history and humble beginnings of Cape Town and it's trade routes and roots!
