What a lovely place as a break on what was a long trip...after having been through Kalahari towns the day before, Kardoesie stop was a veritable oasis! It stands out as such on the side of the hill. Kardoesie is pet friendly and offers water bowls on the lovely grassed area. There is seating inside and out and the shop offers a wonderful collection of snacks and various other items. The menu is well varied and the food is very good. Best of the lot - the coffee is great!

We stayed at the campsite for 4 nights. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The campsites are very well maintained and ablutions are very clean. We had a very good stay here

Good food, great view, excellent setting. Pity that there aren't enough sun umbrellas for all the outside tables.
From skuinskoek (triangle doughnuts) to bobejaansous (monkey gland sauce). Skaapstertjie potjie (sheep tails prepared in a cast iron, 3 legged or flat bottom pot on the fire), pampoenkoekies (pumpkin fritters) to siter konfyt (bitter orange or citroen preserve), Kardoesie will astound you. Don't blink, or you will miss it in the Piekenierskloof and then you will be so, sooo sorry. Browse the little shop or sit down for lunch or a mouthwatering slice of baked cheese cake or try the carrot cake and a great coffee or famous clanwilliam rooibos tea. Heavenly-tastebud tickling- super-yummy!

The view from Kardoesie is spectacular. The service and maintenance of this campsite and the ablution facilities are of a high standard. The friendly staff makes you feel welcome and at home. This place is a firm favorite of our family.
