Certainly not what we had bargained on for that price. Room needs serious TLC with ceiling paint scaling... Had to try and fix door lock to be able to keep us inside end street guests outside... No aircon and small flimsy fan tried to provide air movement around 40C. Agencies do anything to sell their add as long as collect the returns.... Advice people to check rooms/ apartments thoroughly ..... word of move best advertising medium.

I was booked into Meerkat Manor on the 18th of December. I had stayed at The Herb Garden the night of the 17th, but due to illness I could not continue on my journey from Cape Town to Durban. The herb garden was full so I called around to find a safe pet friendly place with an enclosed secure garden with a fan. The web site description was very impressive, stating all room are air conditioned. They did try and get the room ready for me as soon as possible because I had to be out of the other place by 10.30. Upon meeting the manager she requested I pay for the room before seeing it. We then drove to Meerkat Manor. It was really awful. No garden. Gates were broken. Huge gaps under fencing. Certainly not safe and secure. No security gate on the front door. No safe enclosed garden. Definitely no air con and the fan did not work. I asked for another room. But the situation was the same. No access to secure garden. Just clay and palisade fencing with big gaps under on a busy road. I requested a refund and had to continue onto Bloemfontein in my condition. I was told I'd receive it when she asked her boss. I have sent numerous messages and tried calling. To date 09/02/2018, I have received no refund or response from said manageress. Bit old and dated. However not but for just a quick over night stay. Close to restaurants and shops.

Kamers het onderhoud nodig. Die venster is reg op die straat en die diefwering ontbreek. Kon nie venster oopmaak. Net n waaier in die kamer. Kan aircons installeer vir somertye. Dit was verskriklik warm. Geen stoele buite of tafel om by te sit. Badkamer het geen houer om seep ens in te sit terwyl jy stort. Moes seep ens op vloer neersit. Wasbak val van muur af. Niks in badkamer net n botteltjie toiletsproei en toiletpapier. Baie onpersoonlik. Adele Rossouw - Durban
