We drive all the way from Cape Town to come to Stellenbosch Home Affairs simply because they get things done. One time we came and the system was down nationwide so we ended up having breakfast at one of the many great places. Second time it took 20 minutes to get a copy of a birth certificate and order an older one that will take a bit to get the records. Make sure you are in the right line ask security. Parking is in a dirt area, lines also are in the dirt some are under covered areas.

Please hit like/thumbs up for my review. My visit today was supprisingly good, you always here about the painful experiences at home affairs. Today i went for an ID and marriage certificate, got there at 12:30 and left at 3pm, there was not much of a queue, the reason for the wait for the equipment, e.g the camera was problematic so it took about and hour to deal with the one person, how ever the rest went quick. Cameras, printers and pc's had to be rebooted multiple times, provided with better equipment5i believe their services would be much quicker. Staff was friendly and have the try and make things work attitude which is good. Sufficient parking, toilets on premisses. Ids, smart id cards, marriage certs, passports can be done here, cash only. Great experience and a special thank you to Asanda for being so helpful in sorting out our daughter's birth certificate issue.

Arrived at 2. Stood with our newborn baby waiting to register birth. Doors were closed in front of our faces by silent security lady at 330, 5 us of waiting outside. Branch staff member came out to say we cannot be helped as they are closing and that he is the only one doing all the admin alone. We must come back at 6am tomorrow! Crazy, we drove from far because people said this branch gets things done but not the case. Went to Somerset West instead, we were helped there within minutes by excellent staff, no queue at 4pm.

Office hours is stated as 08:00 till 15:30. Yet the doors only opened at 08:35. Been standing for hour, if you ask the officials what time they will open they only tell you soon. Nice to have public sector employment do what you what.
