What kind of practice (kidimed) states they are open outside business ours for emergencies and referrals but doesn’t ? My wife is with my 11mo old boy sick and attempted to call them. The answer that the person on the phone gave is : they cannot see him now as he hasn’t been seen by them before. I’m sure a specialist has the skill set to see patients they have not seen before. First and last call to them. Pretty sure in PTA there’s pediatricians with more empathy and actual bedside manners.

Everytime when we take our baby to Dr Lotter we have to wait and hour for him to see our baby, I really don't this this is fair.When you call this number the phone just rings without answer.

I have mixed feelings on Dr Lotter's practice operations. I took my 8-year-old daughter with an apparent urinary infection on a Thursday (she was passing blood in the urine). While he provided considerable amount of details during the consultation, we agreed that he would give me a call on Monday to share the results of the urine exams. He prescribed some meds in the meantime. Not only did I not receive any call on Monday (I waited the whole day on Monday and Tuesday), but on Tuesday late afternoon (3PM), I called but the practice was already closed. I Spoke to a colleague who gave me some info but emphasized I should speak to Dr Lotter. I called on Wednesday twice (morning and afternoon again as I had not received any feedback). The secretary sounded a tat annoyed when I called in the afternoon, telling me I called already and that Dr Lotter would call me back. That day ended without any call from the Doctor. He finally called me at 4PM on the following Thursday to give me a feedback. I was in a meeting that I could not even get away from and not sure I understood everything he said. But thought this might be my last chance to speak to him. And weirdly, Dr said He usually advises patients to follow-up on their results, which he did not do in my case. I am just glad my daughter is feeling better now with the treatment that was prescribed but disappointed that I had to wait for an entire week to receive the results of the exam conducted, especially since I have interacted with a lot of doctors lately and they have always called me back to discuss results in a timely fashion.

I absolutely love Dr. Johnny Lotter. He is very professional, insightful, welcoming and very helpful. My babies diaper was a bit wet and without hesitation he opened a cupboard, took out a new nappy and changed it on the spot. I was so surprised as I was still trying to get my nappies out of the nappy bag. My baby also loves her visits to him, she is always full of giggles and smiles when we leave. I can definitely recommend him as the best Pediatrician in Pretoria!!!
