Eden RADIO AM 1368 was launched on-line, on the 17 October 2014 and by mid-2015,was streaming successfully to over 8000 individual listeners both in South Africa and world-wide. In October 2015 we were granted our AM broadcast and frequency license from ICASA – and are now officially…… EDEN RADIO. Our estimated final listenership is between 200 000 – 400 000 listeners per month. As per latest CPF and police stats there are 120 000 residents in the Edenvale area alone, however with the capabilities of our AM REGIONAL broadcast license we will be extending into the greater Ekurhuleni area which boasts a population of roughly 3,178,470! Our current coverage includes Bedfordview, (Oriel, Bedford Gardens, St Andrews, Morninghill, Essexwold and Bruma) . Primrose (Fishers Hill, Simmerfield, Woodmere, Sunny Ridge, Sunny Rock). Edenvale (The Avenues, Marais Steyn Park, Dowerglen, Glendower, Edenglen, Hurlyvale, Buurendal, Harmelia, Meadowdale, Isandovale, Isando, Sebenza, Croydon and Greenstone). Our current on-line listenership (on-line stats) is estimated at 10 000 listeners/ month ( National and Internationally). An internal survey done in March this year estimated our Frequency listenership at 2000 / month Our second phase reach, to be launched by the end of the year, will be to Boksburg, Germiston, Benoni, Alberton & surrounding areas. This will expand over the next 6 to 12 months to reach as far north as Pretoria and south to Heidelburg! EDEN RADIO is a Community Radio station registered as a Non Profit Company. All “Profits” will be used to help legitimate local charities and worthy causes in and around Edenvale. Our passion and dream is for this project to inform the community, to change people’s lives, to make “living” a little bit easier, to fight crime/criminals and bring the community closer together
