Take Two. Edenvale Parkrun moved so we’ve done 2 different Edenvale parkruns - unfortunately they don’t count as two different runs. The first location was under the power lines which run across the N3 from a Kelvin Power station, and the run was parallel to the N3 in open veld, more a bike track. Many of the existing photos you see when on GoogleMaps are from that parkrun. But the new Edenvale parkrun, in Marais Steyn park, is completely different. While it does some doubling up it does not loose one’s interest, with some ups and downs, passing reed wetland over park grass areas, past the Jan Smuts Scout Hall and Ridge Tennis Club, passing walls with interesting graffiti on, then loops back and down again, passing the start. It certainly is more interesting than the original venue and a well plotted out course. With the summer rains the grass, though cut, would make it difficult for prams, but great for dogs. There are ablutions at a garage nearby so come prepared. They provided water for both runners and dogs, which shows their caring touch. Also a first for me was seeing run and walk Pacers, with a sign on their backs, one was \u003c30 min another \u003c55min. Well done and thanks to Edenvale Volunteers. We headed for the Red Door coffee shop afterwards for breakfast - highly recommended.

SA parkruns still closed. Park is overgrown, not Parkruns fault.
Not the prettiest Parkrun, but what an awesome volunteer team managing this run! Course is a proper trail, albeit surrounded by pylons. Not the best course for a PB as it is a double lapper with limited opportunity to get past slower runners on the second lap.
Very clean park. Nice clean and relaxing atmosphere
No toilets. Very hilly course. Elevation gained 103 meters. Bottlenecks Friendly volunteers
Fun, safe place to have a short run/walk and catch up with friends and get a little healthier.
The park run is in a shared green space used by vagrants and people getting to work on a Saturday alike. It's not park so don't expect manicured lawns. It's a trail run with rocky narrow terrain and some lung busting uphills. A small field makes it more enjoyable but it's a double lapper so you do need to negotiate your way around people and dogs but great fun.
Challenging run as there are a few hills. The surroundings are peaceful
