What a pity that this park has not been maintained and managed well. It is a great location but that is about it. Zero security. Needs privatization.

5 star for location. But the amenities are old and although clean, not maintained. But for location you cant get better

very nice town but the campsite has NO securtiy with the local vagrants begging at your campsite regularly and there is regular throughfare of general public. Also got warned 2 times separately about the theft in the area, so put away your things at night.

Very jovial atmosphere with all the holiday makers. Its position against the sea is unbeatable. Just a pity about the raging wind at certain times of the year that lifts up torrents of beach sand and sandblasts everything in its path. Other than the windy conditions that prevailed during our stay, the camp site itself cannot be faulted. Ablutions were kept clean and tidy, and the immediate access to one of the best beaches I've ever seen is phenomenal.

Elands Bay Caravan Park is from the Municipality and is a quite basic, but nice camping with enough shade on the camp sites as well. Only some toilets were awfully filthy, but we stayed in a weekend, so may be nobody to clean them? However, it was really appalling for me that this municipality campsite uses wheelie bins on the camping, but never ever cleaning them (only emptying is not enough of course) . So, these bins gave a real sewage smell! and that while the bins were standing no more than 5 meters away from our campsite. Hopefully they read this review themselves as well and are going to hose down the bins with strong cleaning stuff every week, at least in summer and high season ! In my opinion however using refuse bags Is much better, more hygienic.

Basic sandy campsite. Not very clean. Close to sea. Ablutions clean enough with hot water. Actually dog friendly. No eating places close by in the evenings.
