The place doesn't even deserve a star at all. The buildings are really just big for nothing because they make you queue outside, even in the early mornings of winter when it's dark and freezing outside. I mean you even have to fill in your documents outside. This is beyond Poor management. If you go there, be prepared to stand there for the whole day without getting any help whatsoever. All the workers are either shouting at people, shouting out others peoples business instead of talking to you calmly or just not taking you seriously...how is this even acceptable. That whole place is just a list of problems. If you really want to get something done, you should just go to the department in Middleburg. Definitely giving them a four star for cooperation, good communication and good management. Things are so much faster there. The and the queue is definitely worth it.

Very bad and they don't want to work
I was retrenched in July andI applied for uif after in September in emalahleni labour - mandela street, the experience there has always been horrible, the service, communication, everything about that place is an insult to public service. After many fruitless visits as instructed to the Hell offices in mandela street ( I've been told to comeback so many times with no valid reason except that there was a query- worse disregarding my unemployment status- when you ask what exactly the query is and how are you expected to travel there every time you are given a date, the response will always be rude and you'll be told if you don't want money then don't come- especially by this hell hound with a small head and short hair at the front desk- I think her name is Sphiwe) - in February i went to mandela street again for the umpteenth time- queued for hours again as instructed, the service and the response was the same, I then decided on the same day to go to the offices in Beatty street still at emalahleni, I have to say- the service was exceptionally outstanding, starting with Ms Thandi Mthimunye at reception, I got all the help I needed, including my wife whose maternity leave expired having not being paid and having experienced the same torture and trauma at mandela street labour hell offices...
Worst service at Groblersdal. No proper management, people who queued from 06:00 in the morning was helped after people who came in around 08:30, people who was there to sign for UIF was only assisted after 09:30, the register officer has a downgrading attitude towards the people and when they complain about his inability to help the people in the correct sequence, he chirps them with snarling remarks. No professional service to assist people in quick fashion. Absolutely require a strong manager who can manage personal and systems more professionally.
I am currently in a queue up to the entrance of the ablution facilities which also has not moved for the past 20 minutes. It is confusing as how it moves and it is very slow. Matters of Concern - area is too small and stuffy ( No Air conditioning) - No queuing system in place like slip system - No service in helping those coming for the first time - Those unable to fill in the forms not assisted. - Forms to be completed by Banks a tedious one - Old people and those with babies not accommodated - Just heard the computers are off line ( No communication system to the customers Suggestion: we need an ergonomics study as well as queuing one done at this place as of yesterday's Something drastic need to be done urgently !!!!
