Although my experience with Jerome was not that bad, he need to improve. I have seen a couple of tweets with complains about him. Being honest and nice helps in the long term in real estate.

This company is a nightmare. When I asked to cancel the lease because they were refusing the fix the property as they promised before I moved in. Jerome threatened to sue me for breach. I stood my ground hired a lawyer to represent me because I believed I was right that they breached the lease first. After a month of exchanging correspondences between my lawyers and his lawyer, they let me alone. They dont deserve to be in real estate, a field where trust is supreme.

Empowered Properties have predatory tactics, very crooked way to get money at all cost. I had my worst experiences with this company. They have the worst customer service and dont treat people with respect. The couple owners Jerome Stephens and Malini Stephens work in carhoots with their lawyer Lynn-Marie Groenewald to intimidate unsuspecting tenants and prospective home owners. Please be careful when dealing with these people. Jerome, who also run a shady security company harrassed me for requesting to view a property twice. I signed a lease after he threatened that he will not entertain any other conversation without money exchanging hands. Because I was desperate to get a place as I was relocating from KZN, I signed a lease for 6 months. He inflated the bill that I ended up paying almost double what he had advertised. I had to move in 5 day after the start of the month because they guy kept telling he was busy. This ended up costing me far much higher than if I had just dealt with an established real estate company's agent. Stay away from these people they are predators.
