Zulufadder Children's Trust is rated 3 out of 5 in the category civic & social organization. Read and write reviews about Zulufadder Children's Trust. Our aim it to help orphans and vulnerable children outside Eshowe, a district in Zululand, South Africa. The area has the highest HIV/Aids prevalence in the world. It is not uncommon to find as many as 15 children living with their grandmother or aunt in the same hut. They do not have enough money for food or school uniforms, which again means no education. This project is unique in that each sponsor is connected to a specific child. This is an organization without a large bureaucratic structure, but is instead a “hands-on” project where the sponsored amount is used for the benefit of the children who are in need. Therefore, your donation will be used for the benefit of “your” child. We have approx 1000 sponsors, mainly from Norway. Each sponsor pays the equivalent of US$ 40 per month. The money go toward a monthy food parcel, school uniform, school fees (where applicable), as well as help with other needs such as a blanket, clothes, medicines if they are ill. Each sponsor receives a profile of “their” child with photo, a brief history and also information of the child’s hopes and dreams for the future. We have been approached by sponsors who don’t want to be linked to a specific child but still want to contribute financially to the project. This enables us to take on other projects like vegetable gardens, chicken farms, house building, tertiary education or crafts.
