28/03/21 Myself and my son booked a Chalet at Faan Meintjies last night when we arrived they had given our Chalet to someone else. So they put us in chalet 1 instead of 3. I was upset but accepted it the chalet was lovely considering the disappointment. But they could spend a bit more time cleaning spider webs and the garden around the chalets. There is so much potential there to make it alovely resort I think they would have more visitors. If I was caretaker there I would make alot of changes around to draw more visitors. Was a little disappointed as didnt see much animals.

A nice nature reserve. I visited briefly for the 2020 Vlakvark run. The ablution facilites at the starting/end point well spick and span for the day (there were no showers for runners seeking to get cleaned up after the race). I also only saw two buck the entire 21km that I ran. The landscape is beatiful though, especially after recent rain. I am keen to return to ride the roads on my MTB. It should be very enjoyable. There are some nice steep climbs (and obviously descents as well).

It's a nice place and a variety of animals. Roads are decent for any SUV. Unfortunately we didnt see any rhino but it was a good trip overall. Picnic area is decent but sadly there are alot of thorns. Overall was a pleasant experience.
