The service there was awesome I enjoyed the time there it was a great surrounding nice environment so close with nature and would recommend it to anyone who might be interested
More challenging that expected. Beautiful scenery. Quite rocky and steep climbing. Lots of fun.
Really amazing hike and scenery was a very worth while trip do recommend if want to just get out and take in nature
Gun range nearby makes the atmosphere very unsettling. Otherwise, a relaxed setting so much so that you shouldn't expect quick service. Access road is very bumpy and dusty, depending on previous weather.
Peace, tranquility and good service.
Greetings to my readers. For outdoor fun and adventure, Falcon Rock (FR) is one of the best and outstanding places to visit around P.E. They have a day visitors area, an Adventure Centre, a Black Powder shooting range, swimming pool and many other things to keep kids and adults busy while the braai is happening. Breaking news is the new, improved and, in my opinion, a much safer Slipper Hike for the general public starting from Falcon Rock (FR). Over the decades, I did a few rescues down the old trail and I believe this new trail is ideally designed with the safety of beginners, young kids, fitish elderly and average groups in mind ...experienced hikers may still choose to do the old trail but must be extremely careful of the loose rocks underfoot and the danger of falling onto numerous exposed rebar in the old steps. This exciting New Slipper Trail winds up the western slopes past a number of huge climbing boulders, like Frog Rock, until one hits the ridge before the final ascent to the summit with it's spectacular views. In November 1984, I recorded snow on the peak and eastern gully and, during another ascent during a massive storm we saw three snowflakes floating past us. A number of boulders above the FR centre are bolted and provide nice short routes for beginner learning, serious climbing and also short abseils. There is a small hall called the Hub, ideal for training courses, meetings, team building, etc. FR also has a few rustic huts and camping areas for overnighters and adventurers. I have known the owners, Gary, his parents and dedicated staff for many years and I highly recommend this venture of theirs. Get out there and try be the first hikers up this new trail.
Great adventure to be had. Hiking is rather strenuous, which isn't said clearly enough before starting the trip up. Great views, trail should/could be better marked, several people (and us) took wrong turns a couple of times.
