I was expecting delay since it was during December holidays but they were quick enough. I like how the staff was friendly. Environment is clean.

This border great is terribly disorganised. We did however requested assistance from a policeman who was eager to help and confirm the process. The officials at the customs office was less than helpful/willing to assist - we requested confirmation that we had received all the stamps required for crossing from SA to Lesotho, and his response was, "... just pay at the toll...". TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, when we arrived at the Clarendon Border gate we were informed we had the incorrect stamps, and woudl not be allowed through - This problem was later rectified. The toll fee, as of 19/11/2016, was R30 and not R5 as per the SA and Lesotho government websites. This gate is terribly disorganised, people create their own form of organised chaos and queuing systems. The roads from the toll gate into Lesotho are not great, but the potholes and ditches are large enough to see, even at night with headlights on. The taxi's pose the biggest problem at this gate as they drive on the wrong side of the road, push into traffic and stop abruptly with no warning or functional brake lights. I would suggest you drive a few extra kilometers to the Clarendon gate, but bare in mind that the Clarendon gate is not 24 hours
