Best outdoor gear, excellent staff and shopping experience – in store or online. Love that there is a Just Like Papa section at the back as well. Makes clever gift shopping for dads, husbands and ladies that already have EVERYTHING very convenient at the Waterfront.

The Fjällräven flagship store in Cape Town is setting the bar high for service delivery! The staff are incredibly professional, helpful and efficient. I can't remember the last time that a store actually followed-up with me about my order! I ordered my bag and received it less than 2 days later on a cross country delivery. I could not be happier with the quality of service and products. Highly recommend and 100% would use their services again.

We had the most fantastic experience at the Fjallräven store! The sales assistants were happy to help, but without being overbearing. They were knowledgeable regarding their products as well as their intended purpose. The actual items are clearly built with intention and longevity in mind. We also appreciated the brands approach to sustainability, which was refreshing. Thanks for a great experience, we are so happy with our purchases!

It’s wonderful to see this brand in South Africa, finally. The shop at the Waterfront is great with a vast array of outdoor apparel and the Kanken bags (so many colours to choose from). The staff are really friendly and the quality of the clothing exceptional. I highly recommend the brand and a visit to the store.

It's a nice shop, but the prices are significantly higher than their Manhattan shop. Significantly. EDIT In response to the owners comment below. If they were to provide a verifiable example of the cost of importing a plain cotton t-shirt that needs to retail at R899 for reasons related to margins and profitability, then I will update this review.

I went in here in a whim as a tourist and came out with my jaw on the floor. I was amazed. It wasn't so much the bag or clothes selection, but the knife and related EDC gear selection. And it wasn't even that to be honest ... but rather, there is a salesman in here - a young guy who told me he was born in the Karoo - whose knowledge of knives (i.e. material composition, manufacturing processes, company history, best uses for every blade) was simply incredible. I haven't met a sales rep more educated nor passionate about his product than this guy in a long, long time. I thought he was the owner at one point. He took at least a half hour to show me each knife and took it out to demonstrate it's ergonomics, etc. I left amazied and feeling guilty I didn't buy something. Whoever owns this store needs to give this young man a raise and promotion. There are few like him.
