They don't even open at 7:30, its 8:10 and they are still not open.... a person has to book your appointment and adhere to being early but this department cannot even be punctual theirselves. You see how the workers only start pulling in for work at 8:00 while we have all been standing here from 7:30 they should change their working hours to 9:00 because that is the time it looks like they only open. They only open at 8:30 not 7:30 and the first person was only helped at 9:00.

After a zero star experience at Midrand DLTC, I can give Florida DLTC 5 stars! I was in and out within 25 minutes. The staff is not overly friendly, but they do their job and the machines work. The place is clean and organized with lots of sanitizer points. There's a few dodgy characters outside the gate, but once I was inside the parking I felt safe.
I had a few personal issues come up when going in to write my learners, and the staff were extremely helpful in getting it sorted out for me. They also wrapped up the admin part within a very short period of time with clear directions - I was pleasantly surprised by how fast it went. Agreed with most that the cashiers are incredible unfriendly, and mind the many "parking" and photo guys who will actually just jump in front of your car when you drive in, and try to hustle you. The parking in the parking lot is free!
Long queues, appointment booking system obviously not working. Especially in times of COVID one would think they would make an extra effort to organise things better.

It would of been a 4 star as I was in and out of there in 35 minutes. If you not familiar with the process or if you don't manage to find someone helpful, to guide you through the process then you will be lost as there is no guidance or signage. The staff at the cashiers, in my opinion don't deserve a job. It almost like the people at the cashier and eye test feel like they doing you a favour. Also note you do' not require photos if you are renewing your drivers license and dont require a temporary license.
Good Day. How would I be able to get a booking to renew my drivers license because there is never slots available online and the Metro police wanted to give me a fine but my license only expire end of August. Please assist.
My husband was attached and robbed at the Florida DLTC this morning in the car park inside the premises. He was approached by a man who said he looked after his car and the next minute he attacked him and grabbed him around his neck and grabbed his gold chain with his gold cross and ripped it off his neck. He started running away and was chased by about 9 onlookers but unfortunately he got away. Not only did this incident cause a lot of trauma but this chain was also of great sentimental value as it was my late father in laws’ cross and chain which can never be replaced. I will never return to this licence department as I believe it happens regularly and nothing is done about it.
