This is a gorgeous place to visit any time of the year in my opinion, beautifully maintained. This is smaller botanical garden compared to the others however it has more wildlife and birds viewing than any other botanical garden in the country. It's an absolute must for bird lover, there a beautiful birdhide hut on the lakeside with seats and viewing windows with gorgeous views of the dam and the mountains. The entry fee for adults is R30, there is also a restaurant inside, one can grab quick snack and water points all over the park. The is a shaded garden and traditional village houses, very beautiful and a must to find during your walk around the park.

Great place to visit with family. Food is delicious but more home cooking than any spectacular. But delicious. Well worth it to visit on a Sunday brunch or just to spend time with family

The most tranquil and peaceful picnic spot in Bloemfontein. This garden hosts a variety of African plants coupled with extensive information on those plants. It is an ideal place for hiking, taking walks or just relaxing. They have benches all over the place but you are welcome to bring your camp chair or picnic blanket. We got a spot overlooking the dam. The garden is spacious so you don't have to worry about social distancing. They also have a nice reasonably priced restaurant... for light meals though..

Amazing place to just go and breathe. Walk around and enjoy. Calms you down to the core. Love dam with a few water fowl and a stunning walk with a great view.

Serenely tranquil. Restaurant has limited menu but boy oh boy you have to try the smoked chicken salad. Smell the fresh air whilst watching a few birds in the reeds and some larger birds in the dam. For the more adventurous and energetic amongst us, there are a few hiking trails that will get the heart pumping and the face sweating. Overall a wonderful experience for nature lovers or someone just needing a break from the hustle and bustle and rustle of city life. Some even have small weddings and occasions like birthday and baby shower celebrations. Special catering for the occasions. Have not tried the Sunday buffet yet, but a little birdie tells me it's worth it!

A truly tranquil environment. Perfect for a Saturday/Sunday morning walk and short hike. Great for kids as well as they can learn about different plants. There’s a restaurant and lapa inside. We didn’t go for either of those though as we had packed a picnic basketWould love to try the restaurant next time.
