This small school with a Christian Ethos has a big heart,.The pupils, teachers and school leadership form a warm welcoming unit which encourages and prides itself in excellent academics, sporting prowess, cultural, artistic and social awareness. I am very grateful that my daughters spent their high school years at Assumption.

Assumption Convent School is a fantastic school that focuses on the development of the whole child. While academics are important and every learner needs to pass the Grade 12 exam, ACS focuses on more than just getting good marks in Matric. (If this is your bench mark for success then you will be pleased to note that ACS out performs many of its more expensive private schools that compete against it.) However if you have a view like me that the whole child needs to be developed then this is the right place for you. The school offers a great mix of cultural, sporting and religious activities in which each child can excel. They are not obsessed (like some private schools) with assessments, although this does take place and plays an important role. Another thing I love about the schools is the mix of pupils from all walks of life. There are the students who come from very privileged (affluent) homes and others whose parents who make incredible sacrifices to afford their children the opportunity of a good education. The school has a fantastic mix of pupils from all walks of life and different socio-economic backgrounds. This is an important aspect for me, in that my children should learn and understand that there are those with more and those with much less than we have and take for granted. Finally, if you ever have the privileged of attending a school function, one of the hidden things that the schools offers is a caring environment. The children and pupils really care and look out for each other. Debbie Zambom and Neville Workman (the schools two principals) always have the school's interests at heart in everything they do and are super committed too the school and ensuring that the the school offers a fully rounded education and development of each and every pupil. This is a very special school with a lot to offer. Thanks ACS for all that you have done for my girls.
