Fourth visit and I managed to get in the door. Then sitting and sitting and sitting. These guys take South African bureaucratic uselessness to a whole new level. Imagine having so little pride in the work you do. Single handedly holding back the economy of the area by wasting the time of some many they claim to serve!

I was here to renew license, but I was turned away, apparently because I didn't have an appointment, no supervisor available in the office. Staff refused to help even though they close at 2pm. Mr Klotman apparently in charge but nobody can get hold of him, my question is what do I say to traffic officials if I am pulled over, as I was here to sort this out on the only day that I could get leave. My second question is where is the supervisor and why was he not available? Very poor service.

I have had to go to the Grahamstown traffic department for many years as I live in Grahamstown. I will never sit in line for less than 4 hours, the customer service is terrible, and I can call for an hour before it seems that they get tired of the phone ringing and pick up. Even then the service is terrible. If I could rate 0 stars, I would. The police station which is typically bad, is so much better in comparison with the traffic department. Office hours are inexplicably inconvenient, from 9 to 3 usually. Now during the lockdown, from 9 to 12? Working 3 hours for a full day's governmental pay? Dishonest, rude, inconvenient and lazy

The worst experience. No one to assist yet you can hear the tea party happening in the back room. Apparently the eye test machine has been broken for a month and the individual to assist with fingerprints cannot be located!!

Spent 1 hour waiting for 2 people to have their eyes tested for my learners. There is absolutely no care about people's time. Pathetic Edit 1 year later: Things have been cleaned up a bit since I initially left this review. I went back recently to have a relatively good experience.
