Great spot to take the family. Cages well maintained. Great collection of different snakes. Houses all sorts of animals, including a tiger, vulture, wild dogs, lions, giant tortoises and many more. They have a ferry and speed boat rides available. Snake and seal show at 12pm and 3pm on weekends and public holidays. I would plan either a morning or afternoon session if you do not take the ferry. Kiosk offers basic food and soft drinks.

Great family outing. Their zoo has better variety of animals and snakes than Jhb zoo! The kids also enjoyed the boat rides although the dam water itself is dirt and green. Their snake and seal show was very educational

The park is well maintained. Directions in the inside is a big problem. A map of the park will be of great help. The sound system at the arena is very bad and the events manager can not be heard very well. He sound like Persy Montgomery. Talking through his nose.

The zoo is well maintained. There is a good variety of animals, birds, reptiles and snakes to see. There are plenty of toilets facilities and they are clean. The seal and snake show was OK but don't compare it to a full aquarium. The boat ride was lovely and very affordable. It was a lovely leisurely cruise. There is a reasonably priced snack shop. If you struggle with stairs there are plenty ramps to get you around. All in all, good fun for the family for the day.

This was a really amazing place to go to over the long weekend with my family. We really enjoyed the boat ride which lasted 45 mins. We were however surprised to see animals such as lions and tigers Imprisoned into small cages. I've never been one to support zoos or parks wherein animals are caged up as this defies nature. An animal is supposed to be in the wild, not caged up for the amusement of humans. However, access to the boat rides are only possible once paying the entrance fee to see the animals. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would however advise the public against supporting places of amusement in which animals of any kind are Imprisoned. Your money is what keeps these places functional. The positive aspect of my review is in relation to the boat ride, not seeing the animals in cages.

Let's face it - for most of us living in the cities the only real way our children will be able to experience and learn about different wild animals is from a zoo. After visiting both Johannesburg and Pretoria zoos, as well as Lory Park and the few little petting zoos in JHB, we decided to try this one. And what a lovely experience. This zoo is a lot smaller than JHB or PTA but wow, the enclosures are so well maintained and the animals look content and happy and cared for. It was such a refreshing experience to see this. The zoo property itself is somewhat rustic and this makes it even more fun to visit. On weekends and public holidays there is a small seal and snake show at 12pm and 3pm - good fun, especially for toddlers. There are ferry rides at an extra, inexpensive cost and additional water activities that can be done at the water centre on the property. The zoo is also small enough that you can probably cover it in a day or less but also feel accomplished and like you got your money's worth. It is pram accessible in most areas - there were 1 or 2 where I struggled and had to lift my son's pram up some steps but for the most part prams or wheelchairs are easy to manouvre. It's also a nice drive out to get there if you're coming from JHB! Big recommendations on this one

Compact, clean and neat. Park is pretty small, perfect for a morning or afternoon outing. A hit with the kids. Lion, leopard, tiger and jaguar should be reason enough to visit. Noteworthy is the collection of snakes, if you are into that. The seal show is recommended. Will definitely visit again and recommend. Management was not amused when asked if naughty kids may be donated to the monkey exhibits
