Helping Hands Africa (HHA) is dedicated to the practice of compassion by responding to the basic human needs and addressing the root causes of problems affecting the poor and powerless people of Africa, especially women and children. Driven by a vision, we have been acting as a bridge between those wanting to help and those who are in need of assistance since 2003. HHA works in partnership with the Church of the Nazarene in Africa. Areas of work: 1. Child Development. We work with 23 Child Development Centres (CDCs) in 8 African countries. The CDCs cover spiritual, intellectual, social & emotional, and physical (nutrition & health) needs. 2. HIV/AIDS: prevention and care. Our current programs are designed to create awareness, provide training & education in responsible behaviour, abstinence & faithfulness, and de-stigmatization. 3. Disaster Response & Relief. We have delivered food aid in countries in southern and eastern Africa that were heavily affected by severe droughts. 4. Community Development. ‘Helping People to Help Themselves’. This is achieved through agricultural projects, wells for villages, boats for fishermen, sewing machines for single women and AIDS orphan care-givers, or vocational school projects.
