Had a lovely afternoon here. The seating area has high ceilings and tables are spaced far apart giving everyone their bit of privacy and fresh air. The food was well prepared and presented with the Pork Ramen being my favourite dish of them all followed by the brownies and the tuna. The staff are friendly and professional. We did have one overcooked steak but they were kind enough to grill a new one - Definitely appreciated this. The restaurant has an incredible view in the Hemel & Aarde Valley. Could spend a whole day here and would visit again. The food is well priced, not overly expensive (like some other places in the area) and well worth the drive.

My new favourite restaurant in the area. Away from the touristy spots. Great menu, affordable, perfect friendly service. amazing setting too, in the valley named Heaven and earth . Hope you will be there after lockdown.

The Wine Girl Cape Town

it’s my first trip out since March! Now that Intra-Provincial travel is allowed, I took a trip to one of my favorite wine regions in winter, the Hemel en Aarde wine valley. I checked into the @spookfonteinwines Sunbird cottage which has magnificent views of the Merlot vineyard block. The rustic charm of these self-catering, country cottages forces you to be one with nature (no tv or WiFi here). Whilst switching off to the world, you can enjoy dinner prepared by the restaurant and delivered to you (partially cooked so you can heat and eat safely) whilst you relax in front of the fireplace. There are two cottages at Spookfontein, each sleeping four people. Expect it to be fully booked until October as these cottages go for a steal of a price! Just R535 per person, per night. Disclaimer... as I am a qualified tourist guide, wine was permitted to showcase what you can expect when the alcohol ban is lifted. Masks, social distancing and sanitizing hands are a top priority during the pandemic. Travel safe!

Despite covid this place still rocks. Restaurant is epic . Today I deviated from ordering the pork ramen to hake, chips and mushy peas. Lovely.
