This used to be a local hangout when I lived in Johannesburg so it was wonderful to return & find it still running. I loved it. The food was great, the service was friendly & the whole experience was just wonderful. It’s a pity that they haven’t been able to grow internationally like the other South African franchise - Nando’s because this is good enough to be successful anywhere in the world. I will return & for a great casual meal it’s truly terrific.

Honestly I've been to a lot of ocean basket and I have to say Eastgate the service is awesome got our food in 15 minutes after ordering first ever was truly happy with the service

I was @ ocean basket eastgate yesterday afternoon my mom and wife were there b4 me they ordered 1 drink, myself and my brother joined then 10mins after and their drinks were done the waiter never attended 2 them and myself and my brother for 15mins. I asked the bill after he eventually attended 2 us. I will never buy from ocean basket eastgate ever again.

My first time visit and had the cajun hake and creamy spinach and butternut. I was very impressed with the fish. On the other hand, the vegetable was frozen and therefore had a watery taste. Lindi was extremely accommodating and understanding. She compensated us with a new meal with substituted sides. Our waiter was very friendly. Wonderful customer service!
