I have visited Keith a number of times getting enough information about the cars and maintenance costs. Keith has always been open and honest about the cost, pitfalls and risks of old cars and especially old Rolls-Royce and Bentleys. I've had old mercs in the past, remaining ready for the right one to come along.

BE VERY CAREFUL!! My dream of buying my first Rolls quickly turned into a nightmare. I did my research and found PL Motors, a long standing business selling classic Bentley and Rolls Royce cars and at that stage I knew very little about the Rolls Royce Silver Shadows and was honest about that to Keith. I traveled all the way from Cape Town to Johannesburg believing I would get objective honest advice. I test drove a Silver Shadow that Keith had on his floor in July 2019 and I was presented with a five figure invoice for recent service and major hydraulic work done on the car by PL motors. I identified some issues on the car including the aircon not working and Keith said they will attend to it and the car will be ready in a few days. We agreed on a price and I paid a sizable deposit of more than a third of the purchase price (my first mistake) Three months after I paid my deposit I was still waiting for my car only getting the same vague excuses every time I tried to followed up. After much effort I eventually got the car in Cape Town Oct 2019 only to find the aircon still not working and major problems with the hydraulic system that supposedly had major work done. Eight months after taking ownership of the car I am still trying to resolve the issues and it is costing me a fortune. My dream car has turned into a nightmare and I don’t wish for anyone else to go through the same painful process as I have up to now.
