Rethinking Economics for Africa (REFA) is an official club and society at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS), Johannesburg. We have come together as students in an organic manner, out of frustration with economics as a discipline in both our university space and in our communities. REFA is a society that seeks to critically engage on economic issues relevant to our current affairs and development as social thinkers and social actors. We seek to make a meaningful impact in the University space by introducing plurality and critical thinking. Further, REFA seeks to make economics more accessible to communities outside of the University space.
