Great music, great menu selection. Awesome vibe. Nicely situated and just down the road from Rosebank mall. The food was delicious. Something different and the menu is quite affordable. There's a bar and the venue is quite spacious and outdoor seating.

Dropped by to try the deep fried avocado with chipotle Mayo (as heard on Radio 702 - Friday Food Feature), Really very nice. Quite a revelation. 7 page drinks menu and 1 page food menu - definitely a place for drinking. Lovely decor.

Awesome venue, good service and cold beer. Had a superb time here during the day. Definitely a good stop over when trying to avoid the afternoon traffic. Did I mention you can build your own burger #social #shebeen #canteen will see me again

I love this bar. It's so social. Love the crowd and the fact that there is half price on all alcohol from 5 - 8pm everyday. Their food is also delicious. I'll definitely make it a ha gout spot when I am in Johannesburg.

I'm just from there and I cannot believe the level of disrespect and disregard from the hostess. I'm so appalled I cannot believe she ruined my experience of a place with such a great vibe. Its beautifully situated and I had a nice experience with the other staff I dealt with BUT her. Upon arriving, she wasn't at the door and we didn't understand what to do or where to do so we signalled anybody that looked like they worked there and only then she walked out...she was just looking at us the whole time. She then comes out and we ask her to give us some kind of direction. Where can we sit? Where do we go? Do we just pick a table? Just how do things work here? With the rudest face and tone she replies "Where do you want to sit? Did you see an open seat there?...then go sit there." She didn't even have the courtesy of showing us to our seat, an open table nor even wait for us to get our barrings before she walked back inside. The most disappointing thing is as we were sitting there she was up and down showing other guests to their seats with all the enthusiasm there is...I guess there is a target market that they're looking for and we just weren't it. The place is quite nice and the atmosphere is lovely but please send me a timetable of her schedule so I know when not to come.
