Go early, be polite and courteous. You will have a good experience if you adhere to these two policies. Learners licences are now even easier with the improved computer based system in their exam room. And don't forget your pen.

The staff is a bunch of wonderful and dedicated people who make the whole process of servicing you a wonderful experience. I have never got such service at a licensing dept before and trust me I have been to a few. I was so shocked even everyone who is coming there is well behaved. No one is shouting at you or being disrespectful if you ask a question. The building is nice and well kept even inside. I wish I could buy all of them lunch one day. Honestly never have I experienced such a nice flow of operations. Time was well managed. Didnt have to stay there the whole day. Unbelievable.

I have been in the queue for more than 6 hours, even though I have made an appointment online. There was a queue on the outside of the premises and a second queue outside the building but on the premises. This may be the case only due to Covid-19. Toilet facilities inside, no soap (even though we in a pandemic atm) , no toilet paper, some cubicles don't lock. Booking forms do not state that printed photos are required for drivers license renewals. The staff know that this is missing but unfortunately no notice is given on the website to update the public. Apparently only black ink is allowed on the forms so don't use blue or any other colour ink. Bring your own stationery due to Covid-19. The facility itself is very clean and organized. Lovely building and great set up inside. No visible dustbins though. Only 2 Eye test counters are operating. This is why there is a backlog as practically everyone has to go there for the eye test and photo and finger prints. Let's hope the actual eye test and payment facilities go smoothly after this ling wait.

My second visit today (Wed) and service was excellent! Security officer asked if I am a pensioner (I am) and then took me to front of queue, got me signed in, checked to see all my papers were in order, took me to a seat at the counters where I was 2nd in line. Within minutes I was attended to by a guy who was fairly abrupt (maybe due to personal challenges?). Then sent me to cashiers. I pointed out the errors made by the guy who attended to me, and the lady happily rectified all and took my payment. I thanked her for her friendly assistance to which she responded with a big smile. So overall, it was a really pleasant experience, for which I was very grateful, and made my day! Thanks to all at Kagiso T&L! Well done!!
