they installed kic ovens in the complex we love in. we started renting a brand new unit and the element died after two years. had it replaced and eventually moved to a new unit in the complex and found that the element was ded from the start. got it replaced and now two years later it's dead again.

Most heartless uncaring company. Customer service appalling. My brother died of a stroke during lockdown in May. He lived in Tzaneen and I live in Cape town. Was so difficult to get to him. Amongst his things was a brand new KIC freezer he just bought for his first apartment. It turned on but didn't cool. I phoned the KIC help center and the lady told me that without proof of purchase the technician won't help... But she confirmed that the freezer is still under warranty and only a few months old...(I couldn't find his proof of purchase as it was in his office and they didn't let us in due to covid) Then I get a local technician to come out to look at it...he didn't even have to open it, the compressor is broken, he says the compressor is the last thing to break on a freezer, it's a factory fault. The compressor costs R2000 to fix. This means that for R2600 I can just buy a brand new freezer and use my brother's freezer as a door stop as no one would even want it as a gift! Then I email KIC and ask them if they could help and understand this difficult situation. They say the warranty is voided as I got a local technician in to help me. I would have used their technician if they just gave me the right advice in the first place... The lady then says to me, it's my word against hers... She will speak to her supervisor. She phoned me back and smugly said: "you need to pay the technician fee and the fee for the parts". So just because your customer died, you deny him and myself who is now stuck with sorting out all these things, the satisfactory customer service and warranty we deserve and paid for... It came broken from the factory, I will never support KIC ever again and neither will any of my friends or family.

Bad quality product. Our combi-fridge's compressor packed up after just 2 years and conveniently just out of the supplier warranty. The repairs will cost nearly as much as a new fridge. I definitely wont be buying this brand again.

We have been without a fridge for 10 days while waiting for KIC to order a compressor. Today, we are told to wait another 5 days for the part to arrive! REALLY!? You don't keep parts in stock!? The MOST APPALLING SERVICE I have ever experienced!

Buy a Whirlpool at your peril. It appears Whirlpool are pulling out of South Africa and the call-centre staff are taking that out on anyone who contacts them. They just fight with you. The manuals explain nothing and there is no other documentation available. Avoid Whirlpool in South Africa. Do not let the lower prices fool you as they did me.

My eye level microwave broke down in May this year. I have been given the run-aound, excuses, lies and ignores by this company's service centre. I have phoned, wrote emails, been rude, been nice, threatened, but every time I am met with more promises. The worst is that I have already paid close to R600 for the call-out! Appareantly waiting for parts (for THREE months!??). STAY AWAY FROM WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS! It may be nice stuff, but once broken, you've got severe problems - I am sitting with a very expensive white elephant in my kitchen... And the worst is I can not even speak to a senior person/supervisor/manager - they won't let me. Whirlpool, if you see your way open to respond (which I doubt), I am talking about ticket SAC111214.

Never in my 40 years of using household appliances have I experienced such poor ineffective rude service as from whirlpool service center and their appointed contractor in the Nelspruit area.i have been subjected to 3 weeks of excuses fabrication and downright insults from the Nelspruit contractor and his technician assigned to fix my whirlpool dishwasher and empty promises and zero effective support from the whirlpool call centre.and you cannot get past them to anyone in management.despite having paid R600 call out fee and R680 service fee today i was told by the contractor that he is done with us and the call centre man told me his plan forward is I must get the machine to makro workshop at my expense because whirlpool not spending money on it.when my dishwasher was finally returned unconnected one call centre man told me Whirlpool’s policy is that technician must connect and run appliance to check it .another told me that it was not connected because their policy is they won’t go into the house if there are domestics there in case something goes missing.my question is if they didn’t go in who carried my dishwasher in.maybe my gardener that the contractor told me I should get to connect it for me!!! I connected it myself and it leaks from underneath which they say is a figment ofcmy imagination.beware whirlpool appliance owners in Nelspruit-don’t go through whirlpool and don’t use their appointed contractor..rather find someone independent.

I was not surprised when I opened up the reviews to find such poor feedback. I was amazed that poor service to the extent that we experienced was even possible. After two months and the 4th contact with Whirlpool, they are eventually sending out a technician today to fix our oven. Not only is their customer service non existant but I have my doubts about their product quality. Our Whirlpool glass inside our oven, just simply shattered into small pieces for no apparent reason. So, we will see this afternoon what the technican has to say about this. Upon requesting to speak to management, I had to drop the line after holding on for about 10 minutes. It is shocking that management don't take their customers seriously. I will never buy any Whirlpool product again unless the management team implements drastic measures to improve the service. PS - to make matters worse, I couldn't even post this review without being forced by the system to give them 1 star as in my opinion, this company currently don't deserve a star at all.
