Unethical business practice I bought a boat and trailer from Tait Marine. I mentioned that I would be taking the boat to Cape Town and to various other places. We requested the trailer papers on numerous occasions which we never received. We were then approached by Don Tait the owner of Tait Marine saying they had a client of theirs that would like to buy the boat, so we accepted and sold the boat. We then got a phone call from Tait Marine saying that they are taking me to court because it is the wrong trailer for the boat. How can it be the wrong trailer when I bought both the trailer and the boat from them in the first place? The boat trailer remained at Tait Marine which they maintained for me and used to launch my boat and to store it in their boat-shed. They are the professionals and did not carry out their responsibilities from the start. Tait Marine never informed me that the trailer was the incorrect trailer for the boat. They promised to forward the trailer documents which they never honored. Please be very aware when dealing with this company as they are just after the money and don’t care about client service.
