The reason for going to the airport was to have brunch at the Wimpy upstairs overlooking the runway. One of my favourite places to have breakfast or brunch. Sadly, it was in darkness and closed. It has been closed since the start of lockdown due to Covid 19. The end, of a wonderful venue and I hope that it's only temporary and one day again, the doors, lights, will be on again and grill will be fired up. So disappointed and sad. A highlight though was to see the 2 resident black impala ewes!! Amazing!

Best and easiest airport to get to the Kruger National Park, just half an hour drive to the closest KNP gate. All the major hire car companies are available in the terminal. Beautiful thatch roof & friendly people, such a great welcome to South Africa.

Such a quaint Airport. Captured Africa and it’s Heritage very well. It’s not ordinary, it’s not big but it really is worth a visit even if you ain’t flying. For commuters expect minimal to no queues and no rushing to gates or headaches of multiple terminals. It’s very relaxed but still on point with facilities and logistics.
