I took my gran 97yrs of age to Lancet Shelly beach for a covid test which is required for placing her in a home. The staff were very unpleasant, they made us wait in the car beyond the length of the cue. Indicated that they would attend to us and did not until I lost my patience and told them my gran is 97yrs old and waiting in the car for an excessive amount of time for the test. Only then did the staff member assist with a terrible attitude (this was on 28 Dec 2020). Before I lost patience, this employee indicated that the cue goes around the whole building. So I walked around the building to check who was waiting in the cue. They tended to us after the whole cue came and went, others arrived after us were getting tended to. Employees like this should be held accountable for bad attitude and poor service, especially to exceptionally old patients that can’t walk or stand in the cue. The test result was a false positive, I had to get an ambulance to assist my gran to get to Ampath to confirm the result. This caused significant stress for my mom as she is caregiver to my gran and we had to take precaution thinking that the result was positive. Holiday plans were cancelled. I had to isolate in JHB. My mom needs to wear PPE. Ampath was very helpful and made exceptional plans to assist her in the ambulance, they even filled out the forms and had a very positive attitude. The result from Ampath tested negative for covid. I don’t recommend going to Lancet

Staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of their subject matter and services. A long wait is rarely necessary. Laboratory test results are punctually available after the stated two days. Parking is available on the premises - handicapped and wheelchair with reserved spaces. Appointments are seldom necessary.
Do not answer phones .
They never answer their phone and this is the only testing center for covid by lancet
