Lovely times in the Jacuzzi with the animals coming within touching distance. Safe location with lion and Hippo sounds coming from the river front morning and night. Nice quite road.

We've stayed in Marloth park before - each time at a different unit. None of which were brilliant or luxurious by a long shot. This unit was no exception. The kettle tripped the plugs, some of which stopped working completely. Had to move the fridge and microwave to a working plug. Jacuzzi wasn't working properly. Splash pool is fun but leaks. All aircon remotes' batteries were flat. Had to buy new batteries and a new kettle. Spa bath in the main bedroom was enjoyable though. If you are not expecting any thrills or luxury it's not that bad. However it could do with some serious maintenance. We also paid for the cleaning service which never arrived during the week we were there.

We won a weekend competition. Thankful for this opportunity we counted down the days. Lot of planning between the 3 families. Eventually the day arrives and we set off to have a super weekend. Great was our expectation. Imagine our suprise when we arrive and what we found was now where near we previously experienced in Marloth Park. House not to standard - deck at jacuzzi outside board planks loose and a very big safety hazard. Cutlery insufficient to cater for 6 people. Plates chipped and cracked. Kettle not working. Cocroaches inside the freezer. Some lights not working and warm water supply insufficient and the pots not very clean. We want to thank you for this opportunity but the 1 star rating is just because we love Marloth Park and not for the house. Serious attention should be given to this house as word of mouth reccommendation can be good and bad.

The only nice thing was the variety of wild game that comes so close to the houses. For the house itself I wouldn't book there again. Between the cockroaches inside the cubboards and the mattresses that has seen better days - a good nights rest isn't in the cards. The fridge also was hot inside when we got there and we had to put everything inside the freezer compartment. From check-in @ 14:00 till the next morning @ 6am only the fridge was usable. The inside is also in need of a paintjob. Wasn't a plessant experience. The kitchen is also on the extreme small side and can fit a max of 2 at a time. Aircons could also use a service. For outside there was only one light working, the jaquzzi tripped the electricity even with all the aircons being off in the house so we couldn't use it. We had to leave the doors open while everyone took a turn in tbe shower due to the fumes. Just won't be staying there again.

This venue gave new meaning to 'BASIC' accommodation. Unlike other self-catering places, this one did not have any guest soap and only a quarter roll of toilet paper was still in the roll. The courtyard area had not been cleaned and the braai pit was dirty. The 'pool' was dirty and had no filter so the only way to clean it would have been to drain all the water out and refill it. The outside Jacuzzi was dirty and could only be drained using a suction hosepipe. On the second night of our stay we arrived to find the place in total darkness on account of the electricity having been disconnected because the electricity bill had not been paid. The electricity was only reconnected the next morning so we spent the night in darkness unable to cook, some food in the fridge and freezer was spoiled and we were unable to recharge phones and cameras. The cottage is not clearly signposted by name from the road so it was difficult to find it. Fortunately we had a stand number which eventually lead us to the place. It gets a one star rating because the visiting zebra were friendly....
