A very charming cottage, ideal for two people. The charm totally undone by the bathroom however, not a good start that the floor of the shower is half peeled off, giving it a very grimy look. This is made much worse by the fact that the water does not flow away, resulting in the shower being "flooded" within minutes. A shower, standing in a couple of inches is never a nice experience. We complained to the agent after the first day who promised to look into it. No improvement, and no feedback either, not really the way to deal with a complaint. If they cannot sort out the shower problem this cottage cannot be recommended

A great place to stay in McGregor. Pear Tree cottage is a National monument and a really cute and cosy place to stay. Within walking distance to all restaurants. Lovely garden and braai area. Great linens and fireplace. We went on a very reasonable mid week break.
