I have had more pleasant experiences waiting in line at the Department of Home Affairs. My wife and I went into the store at 9am. We waited 50 minutes before being helped... although there were several consultants sitting idle and ignoring us. We were forced to do a SIM swap (since the consultant stuffed out the SIM card while taking out of the old phone) and we had to carry the cost of this. By 4pm that day the SIM swap hadn't taken place. I then called the Head Office and they said the branch never sent the request. If we hadn't followed up then we would have wasted the long weekend waiting the swap to happen. Total time to do a simple contract upgrade - 2 hours.
