It was not part of the plan; we were on our way to Durban and for some reason we decided to off-ramp to check out the place as it is not too far from the freeway. The museum was closed for renovations, however, there was some event happening as it was a public holiday, Youth Day to be specific. There's a lot of history to learn along the 'long walk' to the sculpture of Nelson Mandela. It's a great place and I will definitely visit again when the museum is open.

We ( Epikanini Promotions CC, from East London, a promotional company specializing in corporate gifts and clothing, marketing material, diaries, notebooks, awards and so much more) delivered promotional items for the museum, like 2021 calendars, note books, key holders, flags and many more items, however the museum is currently closed, the staff were very accommodating in assisting us with the delivery, very professional, followed all Covid-19 regulations

An illustrative narrative well displayed. A very good experience of a lifetime within a short period into the life of an icon

Educational. However we went when they were still closed so we didn't have much access to all the rooms... But they still let us in which was great.

Beautiful grounds in Qunu! Some exhibition pieces are temporarily displayed in Mthatha's Nelson Mandela museum as oppossed to the museum in Qunu. It is being renovated.

This morning some colleagues and I decided to treat ourselves after a laborious week. We were not ready. This place is packed full of history, well presented and well curated. I'm really impressed that they make the effort to revamp add rejuvenate the museum every now and then. There are so many good features about this museum. We could have easily spent over 4 hours in the museum. Be prepared to read a lot though. Like his book, "A long walk to freedom", there is a lot to describe about the magical life of Madiba. My only suggestion would be to innovate and add other more modern displays to the experience. I have visited far worse than this abroad and am pleased his legacy is not being tarnished.

Come and walk in Madiba's shoes. The guides are absolutely amazing. I had a knowledge rich walk in Madiba's shoes and I was challenged by it and enjoyed thoroughly.
