Tall pine trees provide shade for the numerous braaing/picnic spots. Large enough for an extended family picnic. There is an entrance fee per car and per person. Do not confuse Newlands hiking area AND Newlands picnic area. They have 2 separate entrances off the M3.

Picnic area situated near by Newlands Forest.The picnic area is on M3 with a slip road to the left indicating picnic area.The area was nice and clean and no alcohol is. allowed even though members of the public manage to get their alcohol into the place.Entry fee is payable at the gate per person as well as for the vehicle.Braai areas are available as well as playing area for kids.
