I spent two years at Nooitgedacht A. During my time spent at Nooitgedacht A I made friends and memories I will cherish forever . The building and amenities are good. Unfortunately the lack of mutual respect from the building manager is a major role in why so many students don't return after their first year at Nooitgedacht A. And this is the reason I won't return. The resident head was always willing to help but was often overshadowed by the building manager whose lack of communication creates a division in the management of the building itself. Another issue I came across was that alot of issues or student issues could easily be resolved if there was clear communication between the parties involved. Unfortunately the building manager gets involved in personal matters where it is not her place and doesn't take both sides of the story into consideration. This causes conflict and an unpleasant environment for many students. I have to admit that the actual managing group of Nooitgedacht A are very friendly unfortunately students have little to no interaction with them. But rather an unfriendly building manager.

Was checking in my little sister to her res. It's good for what it offers. The matron, Natalie I think her name is, could be a lot friendlier. Jeez like! She's scary!

Stayed here for 2 years and I've got to say, you'll hate the rules and sometimes the people, but it's for your own good. Great HK team. Washing machines are still troubling I'd suggest not to use them if you love your clothes. Literally nowhere to hang your laundry after washing: can't do it on the balcony bc you'll get fined, can't do it in the living area bc there's no sun (you're inside), can't put it in your room bc that's small and you'll get cold. It's just the washing problem I have. Everything else is ok Last year was a lot more fun than it was this year, long before COVID-19. but it also depends on the kind of person you are. Basically, you need to be monied to enjoy Stellenbosch.

The management of the building disregards the lessees living there. There is no respect, privacy and kindness from management. The maintenance of the building is poorly done. The fines that students receive are ridiculous because most students cannot afford it and are unnecessary. The student body that represents the students, cannot assist students properly and do not take students into account when they have problems that needs to be addressed. There is no policy for theft. There were incidents where students stuff were stolen on the property and inside their flats and Nooitgedacht did not do anything about it. If students have health issues or mental issues, there is no help for them at all at Nooitgedacht. Unfortunately it is the case where students are mistreated by management without any reason. I will not recommend this place because there are too many problems that were not dealt with but were only swept under the rug.

Well managed private residence for students. Access controlled with student bus and parking inside.
