Fantastic staff and doctors, cared for my father-in-law after he suffered a stroke and congestive heart failure. Caring, compassionate and professional! He was improving steadily and then unexpectedly suffered a fatal heart attack. Despite performing CPR on him until Hatzolah arrived he passed away, something which I believe is rare at this facility, and even then the staff treated the family with compassion and care. We cannot thank you enough for the wonderful care you gave Graham in his last weeks. Thank you!

Abso terrible experience, absolutely filthy, the place is full of steps. There seems to be two houses where they house Individuals. No electric beds for the healing frail, no proper emergency buttons. Please email me if you would like me to send to more actual pictures of the facility that I took [email protected]. I wouldn't let my dog stay there!

I would like to say what a wonderful step down facility this is. I just spent 7days there. The saff are friendly and helpful. Nothing to big for them. The food was excellent. Shaun and his team of physiotherapist are exceptional. I recommend this place highly. The garden was lovely and peaceful. Thank you all once again. Regards, Alex Westman.

Orchard Lodge is a wonderful rehabilitation facility. It has all the medical facilities required, set in a tranquil garden setting. From the moment my father arrived, until the day he left the facility, he was given the best of care. We were given constant feedback on his recovery. They also assisted with claims and letters to the medical aid. A special thank you to the nurses and especially the physios that got him mobile and walking again.

My stay at Orchard Lodge was very comfortable, with helpful caregivers, a really good doctor, an excellent team of physiotherapists, and a kitchen that prepared really nice home style meals. The resident cat made the place feel even more like home, he was a welcome distraction.

I am totally impressed with Orchard Lodge. It was really important to find a comfortable place for my Mum to recuperate and get her strength back, after a full hip replacement operation. I visited several step-down facilities around Joburg, but was put off by how similar they were to a hospital environment. Too stark, too clinical, too detached. What I really liked about Orchard Lodge was the feeling that it was much more like home, but with all the benefits of a hospital type operation - great friendly and competent staff, fine food, good physiotherapists and doctors, while being in a space that is much closer to a home feel than anywhere else I visited. They have well kept gardens, with lovely trees and outdoor areas for spending time with visitors. The location, three minutes from the M1 highway was also a big plus for me, it's easily accessible. And the management went out of their way to ensure that when I was unable to bring medication for Mum, they would arrange it from the nearby pharmacy in Norwood. I give this operation five stars, and can highly recommend it.
